Nupur Darolia and Tanay Kapoor are the Founder and Designer at Urban Pataka. While Tanay hails from a garments background that’s more than 50 years old, Nupur hails from a business background dealing in cement and fly ash. Both are childhood sweethearts and pursued their MBA together from Delhi. After their post-graduation they pursued corporate jobs for a year and since entrepreneurship runs in the blood they left their jobs to fulfill their calling for starting their brand ‘Urban Pataka’. When they moved back to Kolkata, they found that there was hardly any designer making made to measure western wear. They found this untapped market to be a great opportunity and began their label ‘Urban Pataka. The brand initially began as womenswear brand and they were the first ones to bring the concept of co-ords to Kolkata. After an over whelming response to their womenswear collection and a vacuum of experimental and fashion forward menswear label in Kolkata, they launched their menswear label through a capsule collection ‘Bawlo Bawli, the rest is history.

The Urban Pataka man and woman is someone who effortlessly displays a fierce urban style, and is constantly experimenting and redefining his/her fashion boundaries. The drapes, cuts, fabric and colors represent cosmopolitan women & men who can easily transition from traditional to non-traditional settings. The brands emphasis has always been wearability, comfort, value for money and effortless impact.

All the products ane prints are developed in-house. The garments are made with traditional craftsmanship keeping the global perspective in mind. We use a combination of organic dyes, hand block printing and traditional craft to create wearable yet statement clothing.
